- About me:
The part of the Church which is free of persecution, cannot ignore the large numbers of Christians under severe persecution and even threat of death, but must act, for “when one member suffers, all suffer,” (1 Cor. 12:26). We must pray, give, confess and encourage the media and the politicians to deal with the subject. In doing so, we merely obey the Biblical commandment, “Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.” (Heb 13:3).
Love knows no limits and true friendships last a lifetime. Who am I in Christ? I am called of God by my name (Isaiah 43:1) I am engraved on the palm of God’s hands (Isaiah 49:16) I am delivered from the power of darkness (Colossians 1:13) I am a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17) I have a purpose for living (Jeremiah 29:11) (Ephesians 1:11-12) I am never forsaken (Psalm 27:10) I have a father (Psalm 68:5) I am the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19) I am receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken (Hebrews 12:28) I am loved with an everlasting love (Jeremiah 31:3) I am crucified with Christ (Galatians 2:20) I am the light of the world (Matthew 5:14) I am more than a conqueror (Romans 8:37) I am an ambassador for Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20) I am accepted in the beloved (Ephesians 1:6) I am beloved and chosen by God (1 Thessalonians 1:4) I am healed by the wounds of Jesus (1 Peter 2:24) I am free from condemnation (Romans 8:1) I am complete in Christ (Colossians 2:10) I know God’s voice (John 10:14) I have all my needs met in Christ (Philippians 4:19) I have everlasting life (John 6:47) I have power to control my thoughts (2 Corinthians 10:5) The Lord is my rock and my salvation (Psalm 18:2) I have received power from the Holy Spirit to heal the sick, cast out demons, defeat the enemy (Mark 16:17) I forget the past and go forward with Christ (Philippians 3:12-13) I have received the power that raised Jesus from the dead (Ephesians 1:19-20) I am redeemed from the curse of the law (Galatians 3:13) I always triumph in Christ (2 Corinthians 2:14)
Who I’d like to meet:
STATE OF THE VILLAGE REPORT If the world were a village of only 100 people, there would be: 60 Asians, 14 Africans, 12 Europeans, 8 people from Central and South America, Mexico and the Caribbean, 5 from the USA and Canada, and 1 person from Australia or New Zealand. The people of the village would have considerable difficulty communicating: 14 people would speak Mandarin, 8 people would speak Hindi/Urdu, 8 English, 7 Spanish, 4 Russian, 4 Arabic. This list accounts for less than half the villagers. The others speak (in descending order of frequency) Bengali, Portuguese, Indonesian, Japanese, German, French, and 200 other languages. In the village there would be: 33 Christians, 22 Moslems, 15 Hindus, 14 Nonreligious, Agnostics, or Atheists, 6 Buddhists, 10 all other religions. In this 100-person community: 80 would live in substandard housing. 67 adults live in the village; and half of them would be illiterate. 50 would suffer from malnutrition. 33 would not have access to clean, safe drinking water. 24 people would not have any electricity. Of the 76 that do have electricity, most would use it only for light at night. In the village would be 42 radios, 24 televisions, 14 telephones, and 7 computers (some villagers own more than one of each). 7 people would own an automobile (some of them more than one). 5 people would possess 32% of the entire village’s wealth, and these would all be from the USA. The poorest one-third of the people would receive only 3% of the income of the village. The following is also something to ponder… If you woke up this morning healthy … you are more blessed than the million who will not survive this week. If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the fear and loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pain of starvation … you are better off than 500 million people in the world. If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep … you are more comfortable than 75% of the people in this world. If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish someplace … you are among the top 8% of the world’s wealthy. If you can read this, you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world who cannot read at all. This material is copyright-free. You may reproduce it. Original version by Donella H.
